The new Solinst AquaVent delivers accurate water level and temperature measurements in shallow groundwater and surface water applications up to 65 ft (20 m). It consists of pressure and temperature sensors, hydrophobic filters and datalogger housed within stainless steel measuring 7/8” x 7” (22 mm x 178 mm). Its design utilises hydrophobic filters and permanent factory installed desiccants making the AquaVent virtually maintenance free.
The AquaVent comprises of a gauged pressure transducer that is open to the atmosphere via a vented cable to the surface. Atmospheric pressure is applied to the transducer diaphragm, applying a cancellation effect to the barometric pressure. This produces a water level recording.
The vented pressure sensor has been designed using Hastelloy®, making it extremely durable whilst maintaining its accuracy in various temperatures and monitoring applications. The sensor produces an accuracy of 0.05% FS and is capable of withstanding 2 times over-pressure without any permanent damage.
The Aquavent is compatible with all Solinst Levelogger Software and App, offering multiple logging options including linear, event and scheduled sampling. There is also the option of communicating through telemetry systems using MODBUS (RS-232/RS-485) or SDI-12 protocols. The AquaVent is available in ranges of 5, 10 and 20 metres.
